THE JANE FRANKLIN CONSORT

Vocal Ensemble

Established in 1988 under the name 'Opus 8', the Consort is a semi-professional a cappella vocal ensemble based in Hobart, consistently setting high standards of vocal performance, and usually performing three concerts per year, as well as engagements for special occasions.

The Consort comprises musicians with long experience in a cappella music, and is dedicated to high artistic quality throughout its repertoire, including stylistically accurate performances, through a range of music, from 15th century madrigals and motets through to close harmony and jazz, as seen in today’s programme. The Consort’s highlights include performances on national radio’s ABC FM Sunday Live, and ABC television. The Consort manages major public concerts and has obtained funding from the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board and the Australia Council to commission four musical works.

Members presenting the Kettering programme will be Stephanie Abercromby, Barbara Carolan, Chris Coombe, Beth Coombe, Maree Keane, Brian Yates, Craig Doherty, Nick Bester, Rob Evans and Chris Carolan.
